Riding positions become ever more radical. My old '94 CBR900RR is light, quick steering, has a great motor and controls. New tech features such as fuel injection ('94 starts very easily and fuels perfectly), slipper clutches (primarily beneficial for track use), LCD gauges (I prefer analog) can be lived without.
The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP’s mu er was developed jointly with Akrapovic. It’s made out of titanium for light weight, and the design also contributes to the bike’s mass centralization. A special valve in the exhaust helps boost torque at lower revs and increase horsepower at higher rpm. 2022.
The 2012 Fireblade improvements might be hard to quantify (and justify) with just sixty minutes on track but sat on pit lane, in the dying embers of a late November warming Algarve sun, the best bit about the new Blade is pretty bloody obvious.
