In Fallout 3 on PS3 if save file is over 10 mb game would lag, but overall performance is decent. Not sure for New Vegas. It's a great game, but has serious technical issues (especially on consoles/ps3), and definitely shows it's age compared to fo4. But considering you should be able to get the ultimate edition for under $10, you don't really have anything to lose.
